Purpose

Transport, from the School Admin's side, is where you set up the building blocks of your school's transport system as records: vehicles, routes, and driver assignments. This is different from live operational tracking — watching buses move on a map in real time, monitoring trip status, and handling on-the-day issues is covered separately in the Transport Guide. This page is about getting transport configured correctly, not about watching it run.

When to Use

  • When setting up your school's transport system in Larnup for the first time.
  • When a new bus, route, or driver needs to be added to the system.
  • When routes need to be reorganized at the start of a school year.
  • Before checking live tracking, to confirm all the underlying records are set up correctly.

How to Use

  1. Open Transport from the Admin Panel.

  2. From here you can reach the three areas that make up transport setup: Vehicles, Routes, and Drivers.

  3. Start with Vehicles to record your buses and their capacity.

  4. Set up Routes with their Stops, and assign a vehicle and driver to each route.

  5. Driver records themselves are managed in Drivers — come back here to assign an existing driver to a route.

  6. Once vehicles, routes, and drivers are all in place, live tracking and trip management become available — head to the Transport Guide for that day-to-day workflow.

TipSet up vehicles first, then routes, then assignments — trying to build a route before its vehicle exists usually means backtracking.
Common MistakeThis screen only manages transport records, not live trips — if a bus is running late or off-route right now, this isn't where you'll see it. Use the Transport Guide's live tracking instead.
