Purpose

A Route in Larnup is a named transport path — like "Route 3 - North Colony" — made up of an ordered sequence of stops, with a vehicle and driver assigned to run it. Routes are the backbone of your transport setup: once defined, they're what drivers follow, what parents track, and what students get assigned to for pickup and drop.

When to Use

  • When setting up transport for the first time.
  • When your school adds a new route to cover a new area.
  • When an existing route's stop order or timing needs adjusting.
  • When reassigning a route to a different vehicle or driver.

How to Use

  1. Open Routes from the Transport section of the Admin Panel.

  2. Review the list of existing routes, each showing its assigned vehicle and driver.

  3. To add a route, tap Add Route, give it a name, and save.

  4. Open the route to add Stops in order — the sequence you add them in is the order the bus will follow.

  5. Assign a vehicle and driver to the route from its detail screen.

  6. Assign students to the route (and to a specific stop) so parents can see the correct pickup and drop information — this is usually done from the student's profile or from this route's roster.

TipDouble-check stop order after adding several stops — reordering later, once students are assigned, is more work than getting the sequence right the first time.
Common MistakeA route without both a vehicle and a driver assigned won't be usable for live tracking — make sure both are set before relying on it for trip tracking.
