Purpose

Subjects are the academic subjects taught at your school — Mathematics, Science, English, and so on. Once set up, subjects get linked to classes and assigned to teachers through the Timetable module, and they're used across homework, exams, and report cards. Setting up a clean subject list up front keeps those other modules organized.

When to Use

  • When setting up your school in Larnup for the first time.
  • When your curriculum adds or drops a subject.
  • Before building out the Timetable, since it depends on subjects already existing.

How to Use

  1. Open Subjects from the Admin Panel.

  2. Review the current subject list.

  3. To add a subject, tap Add Subject, enter its name, and save.

  4. To link a subject to specific classes (for example, "Advanced Math" only for higher classes), open the subject and select the applicable classes.

  5. Edit or deactivate a subject from its detail screen as your curriculum changes.

TipSet up subjects before building the Timetable — assigning a subject-teacher pairing per period depends on the subject list already being in place.
Common MistakeRemoving a subject that's already referenced in an active timetable or ongoing exams can leave gaps — check the Timetable module first before deactivating a subject mid-session.
