Invigilator Assignment

Purpose
Invigilator Assignment is where you decide which staff member supervises which hall for each session of an exam. It follows directly from Hall Allocation โ once halls and seating exist for an exam, each hall needs a teacher (or two, for larger rooms) assigned to invigilate it. Staff assigned this way see the duty on their own schedule, so there's no need to notify them separately once you've published assignments.
When to Use
- Right after halls are set up for an exam, to staff every session before the exam date.
- When a teacher assigned to invigilate is on approved leave and needs to be swapped out.
- When a school runs multiple exam sessions in a day and needs different staff for morning and afternoon slots.
- When checking who was on duty in a hall, if a discrepancy or complaint comes up after an exam.
How to Use
-
Open Invigilator Assignment from the Admin dashboard and select the exam.
-
You'll see a list of halls and sessions from Hall Allocation that still need a staff member assigned.

-
Assign a teacher to each hall and session. Larnup will flag if the same teacher is assigned to two overlapping sessions.
-
Where a hall needs more than one invigilator, add additional staff to the same slot.
-
Publish the assignments โ teachers see their exam duty reflected in their own schedule or timetable view.
-
If a swap is needed later (leave, illness), reopen that slot and reassign it; the change is reflected for both the outgoing and incoming teacher.
