Purpose

Settings is where general, school-wide configuration lives that doesn't belong to any single module — things like staff roles and permissions, and any third-party integrations the school uses alongside Larnup. If you're looking for module-specific setup (fee structures, exam grading, bell timings), you'll find those inside their own modules; Settings covers the configuration that sits above all of them.

When to Use

  • When adding a new staff role or adjusting what an existing role can access in the Admin panel.
  • When a staff member has access to something they shouldn't (or is missing access they need).
  • When connecting or reviewing a third-party integration the school uses.
  • When doing a periodic review of who has admin-level access to the system.

How to Use

  1. Open Settings from the Admin dashboard.

  2. Go to Roles & Permissions to see the roles defined for your school and what each one can access.

  3. Edit a role's permissions by toggling access to specific modules or actions, or create a new role if your school needs one that doesn't fit the existing set.

  4. Assign roles to staff members from their profile if a role change is needed for a specific person.

  5. Go to Integrations to review or configure any connected third-party services, following the setup instructions for that specific integration.

TipReview roles and permissions periodically, especially after staff turnover — it's easy for access to accumulate for someone whose responsibilities have since changed.
Common MistakeBe careful when editing a role that many staff share — a permission change applies to everyone with that role at once, not just the person you had in mind when making the change.
