Purpose

Notifications covers your own notification preferences and history as School Admin — what push notifications you receive, and a log of what's already gone out. It's easy to confuse with two other admin modules that sound similar but do different jobs: Bell Management controls the school's physical/scheduled period bells, and Reminder Management is for admin-authored nudges (fee due, homework, exam reminders) pushed to a specific role. Notifications, by contrast, is the general system that delivers all of this — including language delivery, since Larnup can send push notifications in English or Hindi depending on what a recipient has set.

When to Use

  • When you want to review which types of notifications you receive as admin and adjust your own preferences.
  • When checking notification history — to confirm whether a particular alert (payment received, leave request, support ticket) actually went out.
  • When a staff member or parent reports not receiving a notification and you need to check delivery status.
  • When reviewing language delivery settings for the school's push notifications.

How to Use

  1. Open Notifications from the Admin dashboard to see your recent notification history.

  2. Go to Preferences to choose which categories of alerts you personally receive (fee payments, leave requests, support tickets, and so on) and through which channel.

  3. Use the history log's filters to search for a specific notification if you're checking whether something was delivered.

  4. Check the language delivery setting if you need to confirm whether notifications are going out to parents/staff in English, Hindi, or based on each recipient's own app language setting.

TipIf you're getting more alerts than you need, trim your own preferences down to the categories you actually act on — it keeps important ones from getting lost in the noise.
Common MistakeIf a parent says they "never get notifications," check the notification history for that specific alert before assuming it's a delivery issue — often the notification went out but the recipient's app-level notification permissions are off on their device.
