Purpose

The Leave section is where you request time off school for your child โ€” whether it's a planned trip, illness, or a family event โ€” and then track whether the school has approved it. Once approved, that leave is reflected automatically in your child's attendance record, so you don't need to worry about it showing up as an unexplained absence.

When to Use

  • Before a planned absence, such as a family trip or a medical appointment.
  • When your child is sick and will be missing one or more school days.
  • To check whether a leave request you already submitted has been approved.
  • If your child was recently marked absent and you meant to request leave but hadn't yet.

How to Use

  1. Open Leave from the More menu.

  2. Confirm the correct child is selected, since leave requests are tied to a specific student.

  3. Tap Request Leave (or similar), then select the date range and add a reason for the absence.

  4. If your school requires supporting details, such as a medical note, you may be able to attach a file to the request.

  5. Submit the request โ€” it appears in your leave list with a Pending status until the school reviews it.

  6. Check back on the same screen for updates; approved or rejected requests are marked clearly, and approved leave automatically reflects in your child's attendance record.

TipSubmit leave requests as early as you can, even for short absences โ€” it gives the school time to process the request before the date passes, and it keeps the attendance record accurate without needing a follow-up conversation.
Common MistakeA leave request isn't automatically approved just because you submitted it โ€” until the school marks it Approved, your child's attendance for that day may still reflect as absent. If a date is approaching and the status is still Pending, it's worth checking in with the school directly.
