Purpose

The Attendance screen is where you mark who's present, absent, or late for each class you teach, every day. It's quick by design — meant to be done in the first few minutes of a period — and it feeds directly into the school-wide attendance picture your Admin sees, as well as the attendance summary parents see for their own child.

When to Use

  • At the start of every class period, to mark attendance before moving on with the lesson.
  • When you need to correct an attendance entry you marked earlier in the day.
  • When a student arrives late and you need to update their status from Absent to Late.

How to Use

  1. Open the Attendance tab, or tap through from a class card on your Dashboard.

  2. Select the class and period you're marking attendance for.

  3. Go through the roster and mark each student Present, Absent, or Late. Most students default to Present so you only need to tap the exceptions.

  4. Double-check the list, then tap Submit to save attendance for that class and period.

  5. If you need to fix a mistake later in the day, open the same class again — your earlier entry will be there for you to update.

TipIf a student's leave was already approved through the Leave module, you don't need to mark them absent yourself — approved leave is reflected in attendance automatically.
Common MistakeSubmitted attendance is visible to parents and rolls up into the school's monthly summary almost immediately, so avoid guessing on a name you're unsure about — check the roster or ask a colleague rather than submitting an incorrect status.
