Attendance

Q: How do I know if my child was marked present today? Open the Attendance screen in the parent app โ€” today's status (Present, Absent, or Late) appears as soon as the teacher marks it. If it's still blank, the teacher likely hasn't marked that class yet; check back later in the day. See Attendance for more.

Q: Can I correct an attendance mistake myself? No โ€” attendance corrections are made by the Teacher or School Admin, not by parents. If you spot an error, contact your child's teacher or raise it through Support.

Q: Does approved leave count as attendance automatically? Yes. Once a leave request is approved, it's reflected in the attendance record for those dates automatically โ€” teachers don't need to mark it separately.

Q: Why does my child's monthly summary look different from what I expected? The monthly summary rolls up daily present/absent/late records for the month. If a specific day looks wrong, check that day directly before assuming the summary is incorrect โ€” it's usually one uncorrected daily entry.

Transport

Q: Why isn't the bus showing on the map? The driver's device needs an active GPS signal and network connection to broadcast location. Outside of scheduled trip hours, or if the driver hasn't started the trip yet, there's simply nothing to show. See Live Bus Tracking and Bus Not Showing if it persists.

Q: How accurate is the estimated arrival time (ETA)? The ETA is calculated from the bus's real-time GPS position and road route, and it updates continuously โ€” but traffic, weather, and route changes can shift it. Treat it as a strong estimate, not an exact promise.

Q: What's the "approaching your stop" alert? Larnup sends a notification when the bus enters a configurable radius around your child's stop, so you get a heads-up before it actually arrives โ€” handy for timing when to head out.

Q: My child's route or stop looks wrong. Who fixes that? Route and stop assignments are managed by your School Admin. Contact the school office to have your child reassigned to the correct stop or route.

Fees

Q: How do I pay a fee installment? From the Fee Portal, tap Pay Now on the due installment. Payment is processed securely through Razorpay โ€” card, UPI, or netbanking. See Payments for the full walkthrough.

Q: My payment went through but the app still shows it as due. What happened? Some payments take a short while to confirm on Larnup's side even after your bank confirms the deduction. Check Payment History before paying again โ€” it reflects the actual recorded status, which is more reliable than a bank notification alone.

Q: Can I get a receipt for a past payment? Yes. Every payment appears in Payment History with the option to view or download a PDF receipt at any time.

Q: Is transport fee paid separately from academic fees? It depends on how your school has set it up โ€” some schools bill transport fee on its own schedule, separate from tuition installments. Both appear in the same Fee Portal either way.

Homework

Q: Where do I see homework my child has been assigned? The Homework screen lists every assignment posted by your child's teachers, with subject, instructions, and due date. See Homework.

Q: My child says they have no homework, but I want to confirm. How? Check the Homework screen directly rather than relying on what your child reports โ€” it's the same list teachers post from, so it's the source of truth.

Q: What happens to homework after the due date passes? It stays visible but is marked overdue rather than disappearing, so your child can still catch up and you can still see what was missed.

Subscription

Q: What does the parent premium subscription include? Premium unlocks additional parent-facing features on top of the free tier โ€” the exact plan options and pricing are shown in-app under Subscription, since they can vary by school.

Q: How do I pay for a subscription? Subscription payments open in your device's browser (not an in-app screen) for a more reliable checkout, then return you to the app automatically once payment completes.

Q: I paid for a subscription but the app still shows it as inactive. What now? Reopen the app after payment โ€” it re-checks your subscription status automatically. If it still looks wrong after a minute, contact Support with your payment reference.

Q: How do I log in โ€” OTP or password? Either works. Enter your registered mobile number or email, then choose a one-time code sent to you or your saved password. See Logging In.

Q: I don't have an account yet. Can I sign myself up? Not as a Teacher, Parent, or Driver โ€” your School Admin invites you once your school is set up on Larnup, and you'll receive an invite to complete your login. If your school already uses Larnup and you haven't gotten one, ask the school office.

Q: My OTP isn't arriving. What do I do? Wait a moment and request a new code rather than retrying an expired one โ€” OTPs are single-use and time-limited. See Cannot Login if it keeps happening.

Q: I'm seeing the wrong dashboard after logging in. Each account belongs to exactly one role. If you land on the wrong dashboard, you're likely logged into the wrong account โ€” contact your School Admin to check how your account was set up.

Documents

Q: Where do I find my child's certificates or report card? The Documents screen is a central place for files the school has shared about your child, and report cards have their own dedicated screen. See Documents and Report Card.

Q: A document I'm expecting isn't showing up yet. It most likely hasn't been uploaded by the school yet, rather than being an app problem. Check with the school office if you were told it should already be available.

Q: Can I download documents for offline use? Yes โ€” use the download icon on any document to save a copy to your device, which is worth doing for anything you might need later without a connection.

Support

Q: How do I report a problem with the app itself? Every role has its own Support screen for raising a ticket tied to your account โ€” the fastest way to get help. See Parent Support, Teacher Support, or Driver Support.

Q: What's the difference between Support and an Incident Report (for drivers)? Support is for app issues, account questions, or general help โ€” not urgent. An Incident Report is for something happening on an active trip right now, like a breakdown or safety issue, and reaches the school immediately.

Q: How long does it take to hear back on a support ticket? Response times depend on your school's admin team, but you can always check your ticket's status (open, in progress, resolved) directly on the Support screen.

Notifications

Q: Can I choose which notifications I get? Yes. Notification Preferences let you mute specific categories โ€” like Transport, Homework, or Attendance โ€” you don't want push alerts for. Emergency alerts can't be muted, by design.

Q: Can I switch notifications to Hindi? Yes, Larnup supports both English and Hindi for notification language โ€” check your language setting in the app to switch.

Q: Why did I get an emergency alert even though I muted most notifications? Emergency notifications (like an SOS alert) always bypass your mute settings, since they're safety-critical and meant to reach everyone regardless of preferences.

Q: I'm not receiving push notifications at all. What's wrong? This is usually an OS-level permission issue rather than an app bug โ€” see Notification Not Received for the fix.
