Purpose

Incident Report is how you tell the school about anything that goes wrong during a trip โ€” a mechanical breakdown, an accident, or a problem with a student on board. Filing it promptly means the school (and where relevant, parents) can respond quickly, and there's a clear record of what happened and when.

When to Use

  • A mechanical problem or breakdown that affects the trip.
  • A traffic accident or collision, however minor.
  • A safety concern involving a student โ€” an injury, a behavioral incident, or anything else you need the school to know about.
  • Any other situation during a trip that isn't normal and needs to be on record.

How to Use

  1. During an active trip, find Incident Report from the trip banner or the Route screen.

  2. Choose the type of incident that best matches what happened โ€” mechanical, accident, student-related, or other.

  3. Enter a short, clear description of what happened, including where and roughly when.

  4. Submit the report. It's sent to the school immediately โ€” you don't need to also call in unless it's an emergency requiring immediate action.

  5. Keep driving safely and follow your school's standard safety procedure for the type of incident (pulling over, contacting emergency services, etc.) โ€” filing the report doesn't replace those steps, it documents them.

TipFile the report as soon as it's safe to do so, even if you plan to call the school as well. A timestamped report is often more useful afterward than a phone call alone.
Common MistakeFor anything involving immediate danger โ€” an accident, an injury, an emergency โ€” handle the safety situation first: pull over safely, call for help if needed. The Incident Report is for documenting what happened, not for requesting emergency assistance in the moment.
