How Schools Register

Purpose

Before any teacher, parent, or driver can log in, a school needs to exist on Larnup. This page explains, at a conceptual level, the two ways a school typically gets set up: with the help of a Sales Partner, or by registering the school directly. Either way, the result is the same — a School Admin account and a school profile ready to be configured.

You won't usually need to do this yourself unless you're the person setting your school up for the first time. If your school is already using Larnup, skip ahead to Logging In.

When to Use

  • You're setting up a brand-new school on Larnup for the first time.
  • You're a Sales Partner helping a school through onboarding.
  • You want to understand how your school ended up with a Larnup account, and who to contact if something about the setup needs to change.
  • You're comparing the guided path (via a Sales Partner) against registering the school yourself.

How It Works

  1. A Sales Partner-led onboarding is the most common path. A Sales Partner (sometimes called an Agent) works with the school to understand its needs — number of students, classes, transport requirements — and sets up the school's profile and initial plan on their behalf.

  2. Pricing is configured per school. Every school's plan is set up individually based on what the school needs, rather than a single fixed package for everyone.

  3. Self-registration is also available. A school can instead register itself directly, either through the mobile app or the website, without going through a Sales Partner. This walks the person setting up through the same basic school details.

  4. A School Admin account is created. Whichever path is used, registration results in a School Admin account — the person who will configure classes, invite staff, and manage the school going forward.

  5. The Admin takes it from there. Once registration is complete, the School Admin logs in and finishes setting up the school — adding classes and sections, inviting teachers, setting up fee structures, and so on — before inviting parents and other staff to join.

  6. The school's own subscription/plan is separate from parent subscriptions. The plan set up during onboarding is the school's platform agreement. This is different from the optional parent-paid premium subscription covered in the Subscription guides — the School Admin can check their school's plan status on their own Subscription page in the app.

TipIf you're not sure whether your school already has a Sales Partner assigned, ask your school leadership — it's worth knowing who to contact if you need help adjusting your plan later.
TipSelf-registration is a good option if you want to get started quickly without waiting to be connected with a Sales Partner, but a Sales Partner can often help you configure things correctly the first time, especially for larger schools.
Common MistakeDon't create a second school profile if you're unsure whether your school is already registered — duplicate school records make it harder for staff and parents to find the right one to join. Check with your school office first.
Common MistakeRegistering the school is only the first step — an empty school profile with no classes or invited staff isn't usable yet. Make sure the School Admin completes the follow-up setup before expecting teachers or parents to log in.
