What is Larnup & Who Can Use It

Purpose

Larnup is a school management platform that brings the everyday running of a school — attendance, fees, transport, communication, homework, and more — into one connected app. Instead of a school juggling a paper attendance register, a separate SMS tool for parent updates, a spreadsheet for fee tracking, and a phone call to check where the bus is, all of it lives in one place, and everyone involved — the school office, teachers, parents, drivers — sees exactly the information relevant to them.

The core idea is simple: one platform, multiple perspectives. A School Admin manages the whole school from a dashboard. A Teacher marks attendance and homework for their classes. A Parent follows their child's day, pays fees, and tracks the school bus. A Driver runs their route. A Sales Partner helps new schools get started. Everyone is looking at the same underlying school data, just filtered to what their role needs.

How It Works

  1. A school comes on board. Schools typically join Larnup through a Sales Partner who helps set things up, or through self-registration directly in the app. See How Schools Register for details.

  2. The School Admin sets the foundation. Once a school is set up, its Admin configures classes, teachers, fee structures, transport routes, and invites other staff and parents to join.

  3. Everyone else logs in with a role. Teachers, parents, and drivers log into the same mobile app, but what they see is entirely determined by their role — a parent never sees another family's data, and a driver only sees their own route.

  4. Day-to-day school life flows through the app. Attendance gets marked, homework gets assigned, fees get paid, buses get tracked live, and announcements go out — all inside Larnup, so there's one source of truth instead of scattered tools.

  5. A Super Admin oversees the platform itself. Behind the scenes, Larnup's own team uses a separate console to support schools across the platform — this isn't something individual schools interact with directly.

TipIf you're not sure which role you'll be using Larnup as, ask your school office — most people only ever use one role, and the app experience is built entirely around that one role once you log in.

Common MistakeLarnup does not currently have a dedicated app experience for the "student" role — a student's information (homework, attendance, fees) is accessed through their parent's account, not a separate student login.
Common MistakeDon't assume every feature is available to every role — a Parent's app looks very different from an Admin's dashboard by design. If something you expect to see is missing, check Roles & Permissions before assuming it's a bug.
