A running log of what's changed in Larnup recently โ€” written for school admins, teachers, parents, and drivers, not engineers. For help with a specific feature, see the relevant guide in these docs; for a problem, see Troubleshooting.

August 2026

Notifications got a real upgrade this month โ€” more control over what you're alerted about, and more reliable delivery.

  • Notification Preferences: Parents, teachers, and drivers can now choose which categories of notifications they receive โ€” Transport, Homework, Attendance, Exam, Fee, Leave, and more โ€” and mute the ones they don't want. Emergency alerts can never be muted, by design.
  • Bell Management: School Admins can now set up custom school bells beyond the standard timetable bells โ€” different types, schedules, and sounds โ€” including a manual "ring now" option for an ad-hoc alert.
  • More accurate "bus arriving" and "bus at school" alerts: Schools can now configure the exact distance at which stop-approach and school-arrival notifications fire, instead of a fixed default, so alerts better match each school's and each stop's actual layout.
  • Notification Center improvements: Search and filter your notifications by category or priority, and delete individual notifications or clear all your read ones in one tap.
  • Smarter safety alerts: Overspeed and route-deviation alerts now also reach parents (previously admin-only), and SOS/emergency alerts now reach teachers as well as school staff โ€” closing a gap where teachers weren't being notified of an active emergency.
  • Custom notification wording: School Admins can now customize the wording of notifications sent for common events, instead of always using Larnup's default text.
  • Notification Analytics: School Admins get a new dashboard showing how many notifications were sent, delivered, and opened, with a breakdown by category โ€” useful for understanding whether important alerts are actually being seen.
  • Notifications now work offline for parents and teachers: You can view your notification history and mark notifications as read even without a connection โ€” the app syncs everything once you're back online.

July 2026

  • Sales partners get a dedicated web portal: School sign-ups, live pricing, and payment for new schools moved out of the mobile app into a new web experience built specifically for Sales Partners, making it easier to manage school onboarding from a browser.
  • Instant, automatic school pricing: New schools signing up through a Sales Partner now get accurate pricing immediately based on their expected student count, instead of waiting on a manual review step.
  • More reliable subscription payments: Parent subscription payments (for premium features) now open securely in your phone's browser rather than inside the app, improving reliability and bringing Larnup in line with app store payment policies. You're automatically returned to the app once payment completes.

Coming Soon

  • Short video tutorials alongside the written guides in this Help Center, so features are easier to follow step by step.
  • A Library module for schools to manage and share books and reading materials with students.

We keep this list honest โ€” if something isn't shipped yet, it isn't listed as done. Check back here for updates as new features roll out.
